Learning Bridge is honored to have a caring, dedicated and diverse board to lead our non-profit and mission. We find that embracing diversity brings multiple perspectives, empowers the organization, and creates more effective decision-making.
Learning Bridge board and committee members possess backgrounds from a variety of professional industries including technology and engineering, law, education, accounting, and social services. Half of our board members are people of color and almost all are female. While diverse, they all share passion for foster youth and passion for academic success to enhance these special lives.

Are there any specific skills or experiences you are looking for in board members?
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about our mission. Our current skill/experience priorities are:
– Fundraising – donor research, prospecting and relationship building (mailer campaigns, digital fundraising, events, etc.)
– Grant research and writing
– Partnership development
– Community outreach and relationship building
– Donor and volunteer stewardship
What is the time commitment ?
Board members commit to quarterly meetings (virtual), an annual meeting, and attending two community events per quarter. Additionally, board members maintain strong communication throughout the week and month to ensure progress is being made to support our mission.
Committee members meet monthly (virtual) and advance projects to support the specific committees’ goals. For example, a Fundraising committee project includes planning, executing, and hosting bi-annual fundraising/social events.
